The JPII Healing Center was founded over 10 years ago by Dr. Bob Schuchts, a marriage and family therapist, author and speaker. The JPII Healing Center seeks to provide teaching, healing and equipping for clergy and laity through events and resources in order to bring about transformation in the heart of the Catholic Church.

Job Overview

The JPII Healing Center (JPII HC) Conference Manager is responsible for the development and execution of JPII HC events. Establishing budgets, developing relationships, negotiating hotel and audio/video contracts, securing venues, organizing meals, coordinating schedules and managing a team in order to develop a flawless execution of an event from start to completion is all part of the role. This role requires 6-10 weeks of travel per calendar year. Working within a project management tool, and being familiar with digital platforms for virtual events, the JPII HC Conference Manager will organize and oversee JPII HC events with the highest standards of care to facilitate a positive environment of healing.

Reports To

The Conference Manager will report to the Events Manager for the JPII HC.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Coordinate speakers, parishes, priests, volunteers and vendors to establish clearly defined roles and responsibilities for the execution of an event.
  • Manage 5-7 events simultaneously with a contract value of $50,000-100,000.
  • Manage all functions of an event including the schedule, meals, venue, volunteers, speakers, etc.
  • Establish and maintain budgets in accordance with JPII HC budget guidelines.
  • Lead teams in the charisms of the JPII HC, and with assertiveness, maturity, and strategy.
  • Use a project management tool, high-level personal organization habits, and robust communication skills to collaborate with operations teammates and leadership.
  • Travel to parishes/event venues for site inspections and team coordination of local event, as well as to be onsite for the duration of event with advance onsite travel for preparation.
  • Create a positive environment that facilitates a safe environment for healing and restoration.

Qualifications

  • Practicing Catholic with a mature faith life focused on prayer, personal growth, and a deepening relationship
    with the three persons of the Holy Trinity.
     
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.  
  • 2 – 3 years of leadership experience in a team-focused environment.  
  • Ability to work some weekends/evenings with variable work hour schedules.  
  • Experience negotiating contracts valued at $50,000 or more.  
  • Excellent client relation skills with ability to engage with warmth, empathy, kindness.  
  • Microsoft 365 proficient with focus on Excel and Outlook, Project Management Tool experience a plus. 
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). 
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively within a team-focused environment. 
  • Ability to work independently/from home with a flexible approach to daily work and assigned tasks. 
  • Desire to learn and grow professional and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to follow directives and receive constructive input. 
  • Must have physical ability to repetitively lift 45+ lbs and cover large distances/stairs on foot quickly. 
  • Desire to contribute to the overall growth of the ministry. 
  • Ability to travel 6-10 weeks in a calendar year. 
  • Highly organized, with strong attention to detail.

  • No refunds are provided within 30 days of the event.
  • For parish-hosted weekend events, virtual and livestream events, cancellations less than 30 days are eligible for a credit which can be applied to a future JPII Healing Center event.
  • For weeklong events, cancellations less than 7 days are not eligible for a refund (this is due to the non-refundable deposits made to venues, vendors, etc).
  • No refunds/credits will be provided after any event has begun (i.e. no refunds/credits during/after the event).

TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • Registrations are not transferable between persons or events.
  • This event is for attendees 18 years old and older.
  • By attending this event, you consent to any photographs and/or video footage that may be taken for promotional, commercial, or distributional purposes.
